His friend had bought a different brand a couple of months before and it was already starting to curl at the bottom, so I definitely didn't want that brand. Another friend had a FreshPark quarter pipe, which I considered, but ultimately ruled out because it was so expensive. If my son was a competition-level skater, maybe. I decided to try the Landwave brand, and I have to say I have been very pleased with my choice. It has been a quality ramp - very sturdy, no sliding, no curling. I liked the first ramp so much, I bought this Starter Kit about a month ago. Once you put the connectors in, the 3 ramps make for a very sturdy, safe and fun skateboarding obstacle. I just bought another Landwave table top and ramp to go with the original ramp (which is still in excellent shape) so that I would have 2 full sets. You can configure them all sorts of ways, so we just played around with them until we figured out...
