5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS BOARD!!!!!!!!, February 25, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
I ordered a white/black Penny board a couple of days ago. Let me start of by saying that I was extremely pleased that it got here the two days after I ordered it with standard shipping. I had my friends over after school to cruise down the beach. We couldn't stop riding. Then we took it to the sidewalks and I became even more attached. If you're looking for a lightweight, portable, cruiser that can tear it up, then this is the board for you. I also love to carve down hills with this thing. The only negative thing that I might point out is that it is small, and does take some time getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, you won't ride ay other board. So stop reading these reviews, and click add to cart. Great board!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ride mine every day., April 24, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
The first time I saw the Penny was in a shop in Waikiki. I noticed the big wide cruser wheels and retro 70's deck and I wondered if anyone would pick up on how cool these are. A week or two later they were almost sold out. This board rolls smother and quieter that a skate park board. The deck is small but 'barefoot friendly' and the board fits in a backpack or carryon. Don't expect it to perform like a skate park board or a big cruser. It's got it's own ride and I like it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sweet!, March 9, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
The penny boards are great for cruising the streets and messin around on and if uve got hardwood floors or tile or whatever its great for carving around your house. The bearings break in pretty quickly and the turning and stability is great for a plastic board. The only things i dont like is the deck isnt very grippy. It has the same pattern as on the bottom of vans shoes but the diamonds are up too high, but you can put grip tape on it so no big deal. And the bearings are only abec 3 so its kinda slow. If you upgrade to reds bearings it will go forever on one push. Altogether its a great board and i woould recomend it to anyone who can fit in a 6.00" x 22.5" board. Its also very light and easy to carry around if you have too. Get this board!

1.0 out of 5 stars Atom Drop-through Longboard *Terrible Board*, June 29, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Atom Drop-Through Longboard (Sports)
I would NEVER recommend this board to anyone over the age of 15 and weighing over 120 pounds. This board is barely suitable for beginners ONLY. The board is very cheap and flexible which is not a good thing. I weigh about 170 pounds and feel that my weight could easily snap this board into pieces if I put my weight in the center of it. The nose will chip and break with very minimal use and wear. This board is from CHINA and should stay in China. If you are at all serious about longboarding DO NOT buy this board. The trucks and bearings are also of very poor quality and make lots of noise when riding. Overall, I do not recommend buying any product of ATOM Longboards. They are a cheap Chinese products!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT!!!, January 22, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Atom Drop-Through Longboard (Sports)
I am 15 and got this longboard for Christmas and love it! The bearings on it are not the best but are not terrible. I got bone reds and they role extremely smooth! This is an awesome board for down hill and carving! My friend has the atom super carver and the drop through carves better! My other friend has the new sector 9 bob marley and the atom drop through is just as stable and carvers the same as it and is $100 cheaper! If this ever breaks I will buy it again or the green drop through. I would suggest getting the bones bearings and new big foot wheels(both sold on amazon) Trust me on this one, if you want a great long board for buy this one! I would be willing to pay $175 for this board that's how great it is!

I am 44 years old. I bike, I ski, I in-line skate. When I first saw a college student riding one of these, I asked him about it. He said "try it!" I almost did, but I didn't, for fear I would fall and die. I mean, only two wheels? And I didn't have my helmet with me.

I finally broke down and bought one after seeing some cool videos on the internet. After putting on my helmet, and my knee and elbow pads and my wrist guards, I took it out into the parking lot today.

The first ride is very scary, like riding a buttered block of ice, and lasts only about 1 second. After about five rides I'm up to five seconds and smiling my butt off.

For the next half hour I can't stop smiling, even when I fall off (once). After this time, I'm able to make left turns, and I can even go uphill by doing a sort of manic twist to gain momentum. My longest ride is about 30 seconds.

If you consider yourself coordinated, well-balanced, and reasonably... Read more

I bought this thing about 3 weeks ago after I saw a kid riding it around a college campus. After maybe 5 minutes of me holding onto my car to stay balanced, I was riding around nervously. A few days later, I was riding around parking lots, no problem! Much easier than a skateboard.

Now onto durability--3 weeks later, I was carving down a hill just like I'd snowboard. Wicked fun, right? ...Not so much. After only 3 trips down the hill, the back wheel wore ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE PLASTIC. It's completely smoked. 3 weeks, man!

The good news is, you don't have to buy the replacement "ripstik" wheels. They're identical to rollerblade wheels. If you have an old junk pair of rollerblades somewhere, you have 8 spare back wheels. With just an allen wrench, I was able to swap in the ripstik bearing (the inner diameter a little bigger than my rollerblade bearings) into the rollerblade wheel, and I was good to go! The front wheel doesn't wear out (with my style... Read more

I am 13, i am 5 6 and 130 pounds. i have always had good balance and, extra money. i was looking at this on amazon and the first time i saw it i was like "what?" and then i went over to my friends house and he had one and was like sweet. i was looking a waveboards but he had a ripstick, which i like a lot better.

he has a sort of steep driveway, but not really, so i just stepped on and let the speed keep me balanced. so i guess i am different because he thought i had definatley ridden on one before. i hadnt. then i started ging around his driveway when he told me how to move, so it was a lot of fun. i picked it up you could say in 5 minutes, and then i went out and bought one and mastered it in the first 2 days. now i just do tricks as it gets boring just riding around. i can go up massive hills, but not back down them. i tried that once, picked up a ton more spped than i thought, i jumped off and somersaulted into the pavement and into a telephone pole. there is...
